The Summer School of Environmental Studies (LESEM) is an experiential, educational event for high school students organized by the students under the auspices of the Department of Environmental Studies. Our aim is to offer young people interested in environmental issues a place where they can meet, discuss and reflect on (not only) contemporary issues and challenges of the world, all in the form of games, excursions and debates with interesting guests from both academic and informal backgrounds. In the 8 years of our existence, dozens of participants have passed through LESEM, and we still meet some of them today, either directly in our department or at our traditional winter meetings called PoLESEM. We run the summer school in our spare time, without remuneration, out of the conviction that what we do is meaningful.
